Its main distingishing feature is the KEEN DRY waterproof breathable membrane that is designed to ensure your feet are both comfortable, not too warm yet still kept dry. The boot has deep 4mm lugs in its outsole in order to really bite into terrain and get you high quality traction control. As its mid cut height you also get greater ankle support across more challenging uneven terrain and rugged conditions. You also get rubber toe bumpers to shield your feet from knocks and abrasion. The boot can support backpacking loads of upto roughly 35lbs. What’s more, you can also expect excellent torsional stability and protection across rock-strewn terrain, due to supportive ESS nylon shanks.
The boot generally recieves above average ratings from both professional industry reviews and owner reviews online, especially for mid-duty hiking. Perhaps its main drawback is that owners provide mixed reports for long term durability and it is not entirely clear if this a fault at the individual item or design level. According to some reviewers the boot can take a long time to dry if it does get wet inside, and despite its beathability, it some report them being too warm in certain conditions.
